Pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A) is a protein produced first by the outer layer of the developing pregnancy.•Nuchal translucency is a measurement made during the ultrasound scan.Combining these results with b-HCG measurements gives a measure of risk for the development of Trisomy 21 also known as Down’s syndrome.
